Couch Removal · Cudahy, St. Francis & South Milwaukee
Couch Removal in Cudahy
The lakefront towns south of Milwaukee were built for plant workers, and their postwar homes tend to have a basement with a couch or two parked in it. We bring them up and haul them off — a sofa is $126, a loveseat $119.
Three Industrial Towns on the Lake
Cudahy was the “Buckhorn Settlement” until Patrick Cudahy bought 700 acres for his meatpacking plant; it became a village in 1895 and a city in 1906. South Milwaukee was laid out in 1891 as a rival industrial suburb, and St. Francis takes its name from the Saint Francis de Sales Seminary, founded in 1845.
Most homes in all three went up between the late 1950s and early ’60s, and basement cleanouts are the usual job.
